Illamasqua Rude Cream Blush!

Hey Ladies,

A couple of girls on Twitter asked me for a swatch of Illamasqua's Rude Cream Blush & so i thought i'd go one better & do a full review of it!

First of all the swatch

As you can see its a matt pinky coral colour, more on the coral side than pink i'd say and to die for! Even though its a matt shade, because it's a cream blush it gives you the most beautiful sheen on your face with the natural flush of colour which makes your face come alive.

I apply it to my cheeks after i use my foundation with my fingers as its so smooth & easy to blend, unlike my Mac cream blushers which i find more firm to the touch & harder to blend & so i do tend to need a brush to apply them properly, this literally melts onto your finger & blends in no time, so a god send when you're in a rush. Also because i've got oily skin i always set my foundation with a powder which means the dewy finish does get lost slightly and so i apply a little bit over my powder & before you recoil in horror at the thought of a cream over a powder it doesn't cake whatsoever!

What i also love about this blush is how long it lasts on the skin, it really doesn't budge all day which is fantastic for a cream blush & brilliant for me as i never reapply makeup during the day unless i'm trying to impress someone in which case i live by the term 'the more the merrier'. The actual blusher does have an odour, which is kind of a caramel sugary smell which i love but you cant smell it onces its on your cheeks so nothing to worry about.

Its priced at £16.00 for 10g which compared to Mac is the exact same, now as some of you will know i was sent this along with some other Illamasqua products to test out, and whenever this happens i always ask myself would i actually buy this product. Its all well and good loving something that you get for free but to put your money where your mouth is can be a bit of a challenge. Would i buy this? Absolutely.

I really can't recommend this product enough, i reach for it every day over any other blush, i seriously havent worn another blush since i got it and it really is my holy grail blush now as its the perfect shade for me and is so easy to apply. I am going to look into the other shades of this blush at Illamasqua & if i find a better one i think i will have found Narnia (don't tell anyone but i think i'm already there with this one)

If you have any questions or comments feel free to leave them below or email me & i hope you're all having a lovely weekend! & those ladies in the UK enjoy the bank holiday whilst i'm slaving away at work!!

Thanks for reading & i'll see you soon
Nicola!!

The Strangest Lip Balm Ever?!

Hola Ladies!!!

I was perusing the aisles of Space NK in Manchester today & was feeling a little lack luster as nothing was grabbing me & i didn't want to buy anything, i must be ill! Plus they didn't have the Shu Uemura Gel liner that i wanted, the sales assistant didn't know anything about it the rooky!

Anyway i was just about to leave & i spotted these colourful round containers at the counter & discovered this lip balm by EOS. I twisted off the cap & i was fascinated by it, unlike being a pot of lip balm its a stick of balm in a rounded shape! it smells amazing, i got the summer fruit kind which smells of sweets, there was also honeysuckle honeydew & sweet mint varieties.

This is what it looks like!

When i got home i did some searching on the internet for the company, and found that EOS stands for the Evolution Of Smooth and the balm which is called a smooth sphere is 95% organic and petrolatum & paraben free.

Taken from the website!
INGREDIENTS: Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Beeswax (cire d'abeille)*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil*, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf/Stem Extract*, Tocopherol.
*ORGANIC
NOT TESTED ON ANIMALS

I think you would all agree good stuff there! & best of all i love it, it will seriously be gone in a few days because i can't stop applying it! its so different from a balm that you apply with your finger, which is brilliant as i've just had my gel nails put on so cant use one that i have to apply with my finger as it'll go down my nails! ick!
Its really light which is what i like in a lip balm, the main reason i dislike The Body Shop lip butters is because they're so thick i feel like i've got lard on my lips whereas this just makes them feel lovely, so far its very moisturizing & if you want a full review once i've tested it out properly just ask!

You can get it from Space NK for around £5 but its had the VAT reduction deducted so a random price at the moment!!

Hope you're having a lovely week!! & if you've got any questions or requests or anything just holla!!!

love you all & i'll see you soon!

Illamasqua!

Hey Ladies!!

So i was very excited to be sent some Illamasqua product to try out from Alex Cummins and let you all know my thoughts on the brand and let you know more about it if you haven't heard about it (where have you been if you haven't)

So Illamasqua is described by the company as
"Illamasqua is for the bolder, darker person hiding inside us, it is an act and an attitude. A symbol of tolerance. A celebration of idiosyncrasies. A confident statement of self-ownership and self- expression.
... Illamasqua is your alter ego"

I love the whole concept of the brand to be different & really admire a new high end brand for being so bold & unusual in these economic times as its risky. The visuals in the range brochure are stunning and Alex also sent me a poster of their Sirens collection which is absolutely beautiful. I actually want to put it on my wall!! (it may end up in my wardrobe, so when i have a guest I don't ask what its doing on my wall)

So this is what i was sent!

Never Powder Shadow which is the most beautiful midnight blue matt
Gypsy Powder Shadow which is a dirty browny orange matt
Amour Cream Shadow which is a light blue matt with a slight green undertone! (smells really nice!)(also very similar to the mac alexander mcqueen otherworldly paintpot)

Rude Cream Blusher which is a corally peachy pink matt

Phallic Nail Varnish (love the name! hehe)which is basically the Never eyeshadow in a nail varnish with a metallic sheen added for utter beautifulness

Number 14 Lashes - very much like the Mac heatherette ones! Very pretty & opens the eye up.

So my thoughts.
The shadows
Firstly i was sent shades that i would have never picked if i was at a counter & i'm glad i was sent them as i love them in such different ways, Never is just a lovely eyeshadow, so sultry & sexy for a darker look!
Gypsy is a really nice blush shade because if you buff it in you get such a lovely colour on the cheek, i think on a pink toned skin it would just look orange but on my slightly olive yellow undertone it works & it looks really nice.
The Amour cream shadow was a colour i would have definitely picked for myself as anything slightly greenish i tend to go for! & i love this its so creamy & is a brilliant base.

Rude Cream Blush, this was on my wishlist (haven't updated it so will still be on there) & its just love, i literally only ever want to wear this blush & it will be my holy grail forever because its the exact shade that suits me! Its so creamy & light & blends like a dream and is a matt, i really don't like shimmer blush! I don't think i need to say anymore other than its perfect!

Phallic Nail polish, such a rich colour & is opaque on one coat as for lasting power i haven't had time to test it out yet so as soon as i do i will do a full review!

Lashes, I wore them on a night out and they looked amazing, they have a really thick band so feel so sturdy when you apply!

So there you go, my first impressions of Illamasqua are that i am wowed which i normally am not by a new brand. When i was at Selfridges in London i had a look at their flagship store & tested out a few more of their products, the powder blushes are as soft as silk! But i resisted buying any as there is an Illamasqua bloggers event where we will be shown the new collection so i wanted to see that first just in case i want it all!

Hope you've all had a lovely start to the week & let me know what illamasqua you've tried or are yearning for!!!

Love you all lots

The Body Shop!!!

Hey Ladies,

So i wanted to share with you my fabulous day in London, i know most of you will have read what happened & all the stuff we got etc & i will talk about the products in seperate posts, i just wanted to let you know about my experience first of all and then once i've tried & tested the products i'll let you know about them!!

So my day started by missing my 1st train which meant i missed my 2nd train! No worries i splashed out £20 on a taxi and got there in time for my 3rd train, at which point i discovered my train was running 15 minutes late! On the tilting train i had no problems with my ticket which i was expecting to happen & then at the next stop the lovely Gemma got on my train & we traveled down to the city together, it was lovely meeting & chatting with her & she's so lovely, We then met up with Caroline and a few other lovely ladies & headed to Oxford Street!!

Our mission was Selfridges & we didn't let ourselves down! When we got there we met a couple more ladies & did our shopping, I had given myself a budget of £200 to spend & i dont think i even managed £100!! i was quite disappointed in myself! I will show my purchases in a separate post but a clue is some of my wish list ----> has been fulfilled!! :D

We then headed to Sketch which is a restaurant/gallery type place & was a lovely building, as you enter there's chairs that look like they're made from concrete & the stair case has this dripped paint effect made to look like blood!! Such a cool place!

After a quick meet & greet with all the bloggers & youtubers who were attending we had a glass or two of champagne (I resisted, one drink & i would have been making a fool out of myself ... more so than i probably did) and then sat down for the presentation.

It started off by introducing the brand and what they stand for which was a bit pointless because i'm yet to meet anyone who isn't familiar with The Body Shop let alone a group of ladies who are beauty bloggers but i guess it was an introduction to their new product which i will mention as i believe everyone should buy some.

Soft Hands Kind Heart is a hand cream which costs £5, for every until sold £3.50 of the £5 will go to ECPAT, who are working to stop the trafficking and sexual exploitation of children and young people in the UK and around the world. For more information about this charity and what they're doing just have a look here Even if you're not in the market for a hand cream and you can afford £5 pick one up as its a brilliant cause and a good product as well.

We were then shown the new makeup collection which is called Precious Pearlescents which consists of metallic eye liners, eye trios and blush trios which are both similar to mac mineralized eye shadows and skin finishes. And treated to watching Case Aston (who made me laugh so much i had the giggles non stop!) do a makeover on the ultra lovely Laura who looked divine of course!! and then did a 80's makeover with the most stunning model!

The group was then split into two & we were shown the perfume that is to be released soon and it was explained to us how the concept was developed and the three notes of the fragrance we were able to smell, which was interesting as the middle not hummed but i think the perfume is nice. Once that had been shown we were taken to the nearest store to get samples!

When we returned to Sketch we were given our goodie bags and had a visit to the bathroom which was an experience (at the end of the post i'll link you to the pics)and then we were done, a few girls went shopping and the rest of us went to Pizza Express where we had a lovely meal & a laugh!

All too soon we were heading back to Oxford Circus & my train ticket wouldnt work in the machines so i decided to have a look on oxford street again on my lonesome & then got the tube to Euston, I was sat on the train & who gets on the train, the lovely & tipsy Gemma!!! So we had a very funny trip back & that was my day!

I had a lovely time meeting everyone & they were all fabulous! & the actual event was well organised & really pleasant to attend!!

The pictures you can see here

That was a bit of a long one so if you made it through thanks for reading!! & watch out for product reviews!

Cya soon

Daniel Sandler Review

Hey Ladies,

Sorry it's been a while i've been uber busy so not had much time for writing but i am ploughing on! (such a hard life i know!)

Anyway a few weeks ago i was looking at the wonderful cosmeticcandy's post about the Daniel Sandler Watercolors you can take a peek here

http://cosmetic-candy.com/?p=1431

& just had to get my hands on some, she's a cretin for making me want stuff!!

So here's what i got!!

We have
Truth Watercolour
Gentle Watercolour
Perfect Canvas in shade 9

Swatches

Basically Watercolours are liquid blushes & when i say liquid they're like water! Initially i got the truth blush and the foundation but they were both the wrong shades. As you can see from the bottom swatch the truth watercolour would never be a blush on me, its a highlighter as its a light peach with shimmer and the foundation which again is the wrong shade but that's my own cockyness of my tan so my own fault! The problem i had with the swatches from where i bought from here -

http://www.heatherwhitemakeup.co.uk/tempstore.html

was that they aren't the best, the truth blush looked a lovely peach shade on the site but in reality is a shimmery highlight & much lighter in person,.

So i emailed them about it because it isnt at all accurate & not what i paid for, they informed me that they are planning to relaunch the site & have more accurate swatches but very kindly offered to send me another one & so i got the Gentle shade as i worked by the logic that the actual product is lighter than the swatch so i went for a darker shade & hey presto i was right & its a lovely matt peachy shade and i'm very impressed with the effect as you need literally a tiny bit as its so pigmented & it lasts all day, i prefer a matt blush as shimmer doesnt seem to work on me so this is great. It's priced at £11 for 15ml, which i think is a good price as it will last a very long time with the tiny amount that you need to use for application!

As for the foundation, even though it is too dark for me i found that once it sunk into my skin it kind of adapted, i dont know if it was supposed to do this or my eyes just got used to the darkness but it was a nice foundation, a more fuller coverage & lasted about 8 hours but is in such a tiny bottle i cant see it lasting a long time if you use it everyday!! It costs £9 for 15ml!

So there you go, i think they have a nice range of products so check them out & let me know how you get on. I am off to London on Thursday for the Body Shop event so make sure you're on twitter as i'm sure a few tweets will be sent when we're there & i'll make sure to snap loads of pics & maybe a vid for you & lots of shopping! (although i have been doing loads recently so should control myself, some show & telling must be done, i'm gonna start taking my laptop to work & doing posts on my lunch break to catch up!)

I hope you're all well & having a lovely Monday!

I shall see you soon & make sure you're all entered into my competition you can do it here
Just make sure you're a subscriber & leave me a comment

Love Love Love (can you tell i've had a lovely relaxing day of shopping so in a loving mood)

Things That I am Loving & 200 Subscribers!!

Hey Ladies,

So i thought i'd do a things that i'm loving post today as i'm uber busy at the moment & dont have time to take pics of the new stuff i've got but i will do a show & tell soon. Also i wanted to do a post to say WAHOOOOO!!!!! i've got to 200 subscribers!!! wow!!! i shall be doing a big competition when my life has calmed down a little!!

So Things That I Am Loving!!

My 203 subscribers at the last look!! it's amazing to me & i cant tell you how much i love you all & all the lovely comments i get as well!!

Garnier Hydralock moisturiser- there is very few times in my life where i will admit i was wrong but i certainly have with this, i love it and the smell is just to die for in my opinion! My recent review you can see it here

Elf Eyebrow Treat & Tame - Not only is the tame side really good & quick at slapping my eyebrows on (i have blonde eyebrows so look like our friend Georgie without colouring them in), I think the treat side has had some effect, i will post when the results are official but i can see they are looking evener & filled in!! If this happens i will cry with happiness as i hate my eyebrows & will start getting them tinted again!

Uggs - I know its 'summer' but i wear them for work & they are brilliant, i'm on my feet 8 - 9 hours & they don't hurt with my uggs on! without them my feet feel crippled at the end of the day! god bless the ugg!!

One Hate at the moment
X Uni - its rearing its ugly head again, i have 2 pieces of coursework to do in the 2 days off i have this week & 4 exams the week after next so need to revise for that with a full time job! kind of impossible, so my degree may end up being failed! eeek!

Thanks for reading & link me to your loving post if you do it, i love reading them! Hope you're all having a lovely less hectic week than me!!

I'll cya soon

Garnier Hydralock Moisturiser Review

Hey Ladies,

As promised here is my Garnier Hydralock review (but you probably guessed that from the title duh!)

Anyhoo! so here's the product i'm sure you've all seen it before!!

So basically I went into boots a while ago & felt my arms were a little dry so being the cheeky moo i am i 'tested' a bit out!! well i didnt like it, so obviously didn't buy it. Then i saw all the hooplaa on blogs praising it, so seeing it in Superdrug for £1 i thought i'd risk that substantial amount & give it a proper testing out to let you know my thoughts on it!

What They Say
Created for normal to dehydrated skin, it locks in moisture for up to 24 hours and is 2x more moisturising than our classic moisturiser. It intensively hydrates skin. Skin will be left looking beautifully dewy while feeling hydrated and revitalised.

What I Say
Ok so first of all, when I tested it out in Boots i can remember thinking it had no smell! However i must have been suffering from a little anosmia (the inability to smell smells) that day because it does have a smell, and a smell i looovvvee!! It smells exactly like Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream! (which is my favorite moisturiser of all time, its just far too expensive £75 for 50ml's ouch!)
As for what matters, does it actually work? Yes it does, after applying & it sinking in my skin feels moisturised, its the sinking in bit that i know is a problem for people as it does take a while, which is a part of the product as it is said to give a 'dewy' finish which is just the unabsorbed product for me. So you do feel sticky at first but once its in, its in & you're skin feels lovely & soft, I apply it at night so the sticky issue isn't a factor for me, i just wake up attached to my sheets!! & wake up with silky soft skin.
This is a relatively low costing cream & on offer in places at the moment as well and for the money you cant go wrong, but bare in mind, i don't have dry skin at all, i can get away with not moisturising & it having no effect on my skin and so most moisturisers work for me. So the effectiveness of this moisturiser may be different on dryer skins, it is tailored for dry skin & promises to 'visibly transform skin in 1 week' & i have heard its great on dry skins but i cant vouch for this!!

So there you go, that's my review, happy?! :) overall a great moisturiser that i would say results wise are comparable to a body butter but cheaper.

Thanks for reading & i hope you're having a lovely week!!!

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Review

Hey Ladies,

So i've been wanting to try Philip Kingsley Elasticizer for ever, i have used Philip Kingsley shampoo before & loved it, it made my hair squeeky clean & it felt so lightweight whenever i used it & smelt like those old sweets parma violets if anyone remembers them!

Anyway so on to the Elasticizer

They Say

Elasticizer should always form part of your routine to continuously improve or maintain the quality and behaviour of your hair. Extremely broken, damaged hair – whether the result of chemical over processing, physical trauma or poor health, will also improve with concentrated use of Elasticizer

What I Say
This is quite expensive first off at £23.50 for 150ml or £48 for 500ml (taken from hqhair.com) so i decided to buy a little packet of it from ebay for around £4 to test it out before committing to a full size. My first impressions is that it has no smell at all & i was so baffled i sniffed & smelled til i nearly passed out, seriously its smellless! which i love because when you have a hair mask on the smell initially can be bliss but if you've got it on an hour it can be annoying after a while.
So on to the formula its very thick & coats the hair unlike some conditioning treatments which i feel go to nothing dont know if thats a good or a bad thing! And i found a little goes a long way so the tub should last a bit longer than other brands.

You are supposed to wet your hair, apply the elasticizer & leave it on 10 - 15 mins & then shampoo & condition your hair as normal. So i wetted my locks, applied, clingfilmed it & left it on a good hour and a half, mainly because i couldnt be arsed to wash it out!

So the results, i think its a good treatment, my hair felt in really good condition and bouncy & uber soft, there is a new extreme elasticizer which i'm going to be trying out as well so i'll let you know if its any different.

The question i always ask myself with deep conditioning treatments, do the results justify the cost? i'm not sure with this, i am going to try it out a few more times but so far no, i can get similar results from other less expensive products so time will tell.

Thanks for reading & if you've got any questions comments please leave them below!!!

Love Ya!!

A Minuscule Show & Tell!

Hey Ladies,

I did a bit of shopping today so i thought i'd share with you my purchases, i will have a clothing one up soon i'm just waiting my asos order to arrive!

So here's what i got!

Benefit You Rebel Light!
I wanted to try this tinted moisturiser out before i bought it so i purchased a sample from ebay as i tend to need a fuller coverage & having seen this reviewed by the gorgeous Kelanjo19 i thought i'd try it out! I'll let you guys know how i get on with it!

Revlon Colorstay Foundation in True Beige
I have been wearing my Bobbi Brown foundation for work which is such a waste really as i dont need to look fully made up, so i asked on twitter for a good drugstore foundation & was recommended this. I will be doing a full review when i've tested it out, so far i dont like the smell as it doesnt leave once blended like the majority of products.

Garnier Hydralock Moisturising milk
I have heard so many wonderful reviews for this product & i had already tried it in boots & didnt like it but i was curios to try it properly & not to make a snap judgement! So again i will try it out & give my two pennies worth on it!

OPI Paint My Moji-toes Red
Yes more OPI, i am a nail polish fiend!! & love OPI & the name of this just reminds me of my recent trip to Spain so had to buy it & it is a gorgeous colour a kind of deep redy coral!

There you go, link me up with any recent show & tells i love noseying at what people get! I hope you're all having a lovely week so far & thanks for reading

My Baby & other dogs!!

Hey Ladies,

I thought i'd do something a little different tonight & show you all my baby. I love my dogs like mad & one in particular is all mine & he's snag/snaggy/snaggy baggy/snaggy baggy waggy! He's a golden cocker spainel & about 14/15! & just the best dog in the world! A breed characteristic of a coker spaniel is that it bonds to one family member more than any other & thats what he's like with me. He's a grumpy old man when i'm not with him & love sick puppy when i'm with him, he follows me all over the house & loves a cuddle. The only problem is, is that he lives with my mum in Spain with the rest of my dogs and i'm really really missing him at the minute, to the point that hearing a story about him from my brother (he's just got back from visiting my mum) or seeing a picture of him that my brothers girlfriend put on facebook makes me cry & just ache to see him! i hate it so much that i'm away from him & when i have to leave it breaks my heart, he & all my dogs know i'm leaving, Scooby the black labrador goes really quiet & hides under curtains & my baby sits by my suitcase & doesnt leave it! So there you go i'm really missing him tonight so thought i'd share my amazing dog with everyone, here's some pics & a video! check out his mohalk!!!

Having a snuggle & he found a stick!!!

Such a poser! i wonder where he got that from!

Just so pretty in his dressing gown!

I love that pic of scooby in mid shake!! & my baby in a wheel barrow!

The rest of my dogs

Spud/spuddy/ spuddy bunkins/fat so!!

Look how tiny he was & how fat he is now!!

Snuf/ Snuffy wuffy/ little shit!

He's gay if you didnt work it out!

Burt's Bees Lemon Cuticle Creme Review

Hey ladies,

So i thought i'd do a review of the Burt's Bees Lemon Cuticle Creme for you all. I got this in the Head to toe starter kit a while ago & been trying it out since.

What they say
Give your needy nails a helping hand. Nourish and moisturise nails and cuticles with this intensive, natural treatment. A touch of lemon oil makes your nails smell incredibly clean, healthy and beautiful, naturally.

What I Say
I love this! It smells amazing, when i'm at my folks in Spain i pick lemons from the orchard & if you smell the top of the lemon where it was attached to the tree the cuticle creme smells exactly like it, so i'm in love with it. Lemon is my favorite smell & taste so this is just my dream.
On to the actual product, it is a lovely product to use it's just a wax texture & melts onto your finger to rub into the cuticles and soaks in almost immediately. The packaging is cute & idea & great for in your handbag to just use on the go & it really does nourish your cuticles, and not only that it's a great lip balm so multifunctional as well!! :)

All in all as you can tell i love this product & can see myself repurchasing it over & over, at around £6 for 7g it doesnt hurt your purse too much as well when you're handing over the cash! I am currently trying the solar oil cuticle oil that i've heard people raving about so if you want a comparison let me know & i shall get it done for you!

Thanks for reading

Lots of love & butterfly kisses (if you dont know what they are, then you've never been truely loved hehe)
